News of drought conditions is not good for gardeners in the hosepipe ban zones.  The ban covers most of England – all of the south, the midlands right up to the north in East Yorkshire.

It looks as though the Ficus trees at Portcullis House are safe.  Reports suggest that the Estates department will be renegotiating the contract to almost halve the costs to £18,500 although MPs still have to vote on this.
